The first concept house from Jörnträhus has now been assembled by Contractor at Kvarnbacken in Kåge. It is Skellefteå municipality's property company Skebo that has ordered seven loft houses with a total of 70 rental apartments.
The project is a collaboration with Contractor Bygg and Contractor Mark, where we at Jörnträhus are responsible for delivering finished wooden building elements. Our building elements facilitate the work on site in Kåge - but also create a more environmentally friendly and energy-optimised process with less waste.
Kurt Nyström, CEO of Contractor Bygg in Skellefteå, is very pleased with the project and how the co-operation worked.
- "It's nice that the work on Kvarnbacken is now really starting to show, as this is a project that has been going on for several years. Everything is going according to plan and all the flats should be ready by the end of the year," says Kurt.
Kvarnbacken is an example of how the major industrial establishments in Skellefteå in recent years have had major effects on the region's housing market.
- Skellefteå is now growing significantly outside the city centre and it is inspiring that we, together with Contractor, are contributing to the construction boom, adds Mikael Lindberg, CEO of Jörnträhus.
