Kvarnbacken neighbourhood
In early summer 2021, Jörnträhus started a project together with Contractor and Skebo in the urban area of Kåge, 13 km outside Skellefteå. 70 new apartments would be built in the area with planned occupancy around the turn of the year 2022/23.
Contractor Bygg has handled the turnkey contract, Contractor Mark has done the land and construction work and the prefabricated houses are built by us at Jörnträhus in our house factory in Jörn. The new apartments will be a welcome addition to a Skellefteå that is growing at a steady pace.

The house model chosen in this case is a loft house and has walls and beams in wood. They are the first that Jörnträhus delivers in this series. The Kvarnbacken block is in a scenic location close to the Kåge river, school, preschool and Kåge centre. In total, there are six two-storey townhouses with 70 apartments of between one and three rooms and kitchens with areas from 31 to 69 square metres.
The project is expected to be fully completed for occupancy around the end of 2022.
