Recruiting top talent in tough competition

Jorntrahus news Elin Skoglund Alma Sandqvist

After a record-breaking start to 2021, Jörnträhus will recruit around ten industrial workers to handle the strong order intake. The company has also finalised three real key competencies on the service side:
- A-projectors Elin Skoglund and Alma Sandqvist are already working and after the summer Elin Nilsson will join as project manager. "It feels good that we can recruit exactly the specialist expertise we need," says Jörnträhus CEO Mikael Lindberg.

Already in the first quarter of 2021, Jörnträhus had an order intake for the full year of SEK 63 million - more than in the whole of 2020. Investments are now being made to expand production capacity and more industrial workers are being recruited. Mikael Lindberg explains:
- We have already hired a number of industrial workers from the villages around Jörn, which feels good because we are happy to contribute to employment in the local area and we will continue to recruit. Among the applications, we have several experienced house builders who have previously worked at Derome in Byske and it is of course positive if we can offer them new jobs.

"We simply thought they were the best"
In addition, Jörnträhus is strengthening its team of officials with Elin Skoglund, Alma Sandqvist and Elin Nilsson.
- Competition for qualified staff is tough, and we are extremely pleased to have succeeded in recruiting three new employees in whom we have great faith. The fact that we have hired three girls is a bonus, as we aim to achieve a more even distribution in terms of age, background and gender. However, that had nothing to do with these recruitments, but they got their jobs because we thought they were the best, says Jörnträhus CEO Mikael Lindberg.

Alma Sandqvist is 26 years old and comes most recently from a position as a building designer at WSP Skellefteå. At Jörnträhus, she has been working for just over a month as an A-projector and designer.
- I have studied engineering at LTU with a specialisation in architecture and therefore it was attractive to work with both architecture and construction. Especially at a company that is in such an expansive phase as Jörnträhus is, says Alma Sandqvist.

Elin Skoglund is 23 years old and will soon complete the programme "Wood Building Projector Sustainable Construction" at YrkesAkademin in Skellefteå. She has already worked for just over a month at Jörnträhus in parallel with her studies and when the programme is completed at the end of May, she will work fully as an A-projector.
- I am happy to get the chance to show my skills and start with the profession I have trained for, in a field I really like. Here at Jörnträhus I get the chance to realise people's house dreams, which has been my goal throughout school, says Elin Skoglund.
